Saša Spačal [www.agapea.si] is a postmedia artist working at the intersection of living systems research, contemporary and sound art. Her work focuses primarily on the posthuman condition, where human beings exist and act as one of many elements in the ecosystem and not as sovereigns. Therefore abandoning the Cartesian system of classification and accepting the fact that the field of technology has expanded not only from hardware to software but also to wetware resulting in hybrid phenomena inscribed in mechanical, digital and organic logic.
Her work was exhibited and performed at venues and festivals such as Ars Electronica Festival (AT), Prix Cube Exhibition (FR), Transmediale Festival (DE), Athens Digital Arts Festival (GR), Perm Museum of Contemporary Art (RUS), Onassis Cultural Center Athens (GR), Chronos Art Center (CHN), Eyebeam (USA), Cynetart Festival (DE), National Art Museum of China (CHN), Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova (SI), Kapelica Gallery (SI), Device_art (CRO), Art Laboratory Berlin (DE), Kiblix Festival (SI), Gallery of Contemporary Art Celje (SI), Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina (SRB), Lisboa Soa Festival (PT), Sonica Festival (SI). She was awarded Prix Ars Electronica Honorary Mention and nominated for Prix Cube.
Mirjan Švagelj, PhD obtained a PhD in biomedicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana. As a scientist, he works in research and development in the field of applied biochemistry and biotechnology. As an artist, he works at the intersection of biotechnology, microbiology and intermedia art. He has exhibited his work at numerous venues and festivals, such as Ars Electronica, Cynetart, The Chinese National Museum of Art, Device_art, Art Laboratory Berlin, Prix Cube Exhibition, the Kapelica Gallery, Kiblix Festival, Onassis Cultural Centre Athens and Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova +MSUM. For his work he received an Honorary Mention at the Ars Electronica Prix 2015, and was nominated for the Prix Cube 2016.
Jan Turk is a sound designer, music producer and DJ. He has been working with sound for the last 10 years: live and studio mixing and recording for radio, theater, television, commercials and anthropological movies. He is part of Forestdelic records crew where he has been DJ and producer since it’s beginning.
In 2016 he did a project Cave Astronauts with Marko Batista where the intention was to upgrade their sound work that is based on recording process and sound implementation within the ‘site-specific’ acoustic space of the wild natural cave. In the same year he did a sound design for a series of Connections Continuum videos that were part of exhibition Simbiom – Economy of Symbiosis by Saša Spačal at Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova, +MSUM.
